Organizing Tips

*Lots of times we hold on to things because we paid a lot of money for them, even though we  aren’t using them. Ask yourself, though, what value to me is this designer outfit that I have  that just hangs in my closet? Zero. However, donating that outfit could mean $30,000 a year  to someone who wears it to an interview and gets the job!

*Have a place for everything, and have everything in its place. Before going to bed/leaving the  office, take 15 minutes to put the last bits away and sleep calmly knowing the house/office  is ready for another day.

*Utilize clear bins for storing tools, household objects, and toys that don’t stack neatly on  their own. Label each box clearly with words or consider photos for children’s objects.

*Don’t even bring the junk mail into the house. Sort the mail standing in the garage tossing  the junk directly into the recycle bin. Do yourself and the environment a favor by opting out of  unsolicited direct mailings.

*Have your children help in their rooms to get rid of extra toys and clothes. Even pre-school  children can help you choose 3 of their favorite dolls to keep and which to take to charity.  Take your child with you to show where the dolls are going and how they will be loved by  other children.

*When you are feeling overwhelmed, get some help! That’s what we are here for. We can be reached at: melissa@simplespacestexas.com (Houston area) or michelle@simplespacestexas.com (Austin area).
